Develop a System for Efficient Reviews of Cancer Treatment Studies

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) to assist with its Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials (CCCT) required an approach to coordinate clinical trials research

Client Goal

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) to assist with its Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials (CCCT) required an approach to coordinate clinical trials research through data sharing and providing incentives for collaboration while using technology to advance modern cancer biology breakthroughs.

Considerations

CCCT placed a high emphasis on using resources most efficiently through improved cost-effectiveness and accrual rates, and via more rapid trial initiation.  It needed a system that would provide extramural and intramural oversight of NCI clinical trials. Humanitas customized its ePanelĀ© online review facilitation software to help reviewers and investigators to organize, coordinate, and evaluate clinical trials, concepts and protocols. CCCT board members use ePanelĀ© to produce management reports and outcomes and archive meeting results.

eManagement

The client receives an efficient, reliable and cost-effective ongoing scientific review process that allows the Investigational Drug Steering Committee (IDSC) and Disease-Specific Scientific Steering Committees (SCs) access to the most relevant cancer trials and protocols for review and evaluation.
